Invisible ceiling sound capture
Three Shure MXA series multi-microphone arrays are integrated into the ceiling. With 128 microphone elements and 24 pickup beams, they automatically follow whoever is speaking. Speakers and audience are captured without table microphones or visible cables.
Sound reinforcement is provided by ceiling and screen loudspeakers, for even coverage throughout the room.
Videoconferencing designed for hybrid events
The room is equipped with a Cisco videoconferencing system, combining a Room Bar Pro with an external Codec EQ. The front camera bar captures the audience, while a dedicated PTZ speaker camera frames the presenter on stage. Remote participants can follow the conference comfortably and take part in the discussion.
Network-based audio and video distribution
Video signals are distributed over the network through a 24 × 24 virtual matrix based on Crestron NVX interfaces. This AV-over-IP architecture routes any source to any display and allows the system to evolve without rewiring.
Audio is transported over Dante and processed by a QSC platform, which handles mixing, processing and routing between the room and the videoconference.
Centralised touch panel control
The entire system is controlled by a Crestron control system with a 10-inch touch panel. In a few taps, users can start a presentation, launch a video call or adjust the volume, without needing to know the technical details of the room.

videoconferencing, ceiling microphones and AV over IP
AV Application designed and integrated the complete audiovisual system of a 100-seat auditorium. The goal: host both in-person conferences and hybrid events, with a large-format image, clear sound in every seat and simple control from a single touch panel.
Project challenges
- Deliver an image that is readable from the back row, even with the room lights on.
- Capture speakers and audience without table microphones or visible cables.
- Allow remote participants to see and clearly hear the speaker and the room.
- Distribute audio and video sources flexibly, with a scalable architecture.
- Make the room easy to use without technical assistance.
The solution
Large-format laser projection
The display is based on a 10,000 ANSI lumen Sharp/NEC laser projector, with WUXGA resolution (1920 × 1200) and 4K source compatibility. It projects a 300 × 188 cm image, sized for the depth of the room. Laser technology ensures stable brightness over time and low maintenance, suited to intensive use.
